Most people do nothing until there is a stain on the ceiling. By then the cheap fix is gone. We clean it, we tune it up, and we treat it.
- Cleaning. The black streaks on Louisiana roofs are algae, and they hold moisture against the shingles.
- Tune-up. Pipe boots, flashing, exposed nails and sealant, the small things that turn into leaks.
- Soy-based treatment. For shingles that are still structurally sound and qualify for it.
