Certified, and it matters
John Gagliano holds an FAA Part 107 certificate, the commercial drone pilot rating. It comes with rules about where and how high you can fly, and there is real accountability attached to it.
Plenty of people fly a roof with a hobby drone and no certificate. When a property sits in controlled airspace, John gets FAA authorization before he flies, or he does not fly it. Some operators skip that step and fly anyway. That is the difference between a professional operation and a guy with a drone.
